What Payment options are accepted?
We accept payments via Cash (PHP - Philippines Pesos), PayPal (USD - US Dollar), Zelle (USD), Revolut (PHP or USD), Wise (SGD or PHP), GCash (PHP), PayMaya (PHP), PayNow (SGD - Singapore Dollar) Domestic (PH) Bank Transfers and/or Select Cryptocurrencies / Stablecoins.
Notes:
a. Any payments in USD or SGD shall be based on Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI) Buying Rate.
b. See https://www.bpi.com.ph/personal/bank/forex/rates for the latest foreign exchange rates.
c. If you choose to pay via PayPal, do NOT select "send to friends/family" in lieu of for "goods and services". If you select "goods ann services" PayPal deducts a fee on what the amount you send to us. As a result, we would have to collect this PayPal fee in cash from you, to offset the PayPal deduction.
Why does iLonggo Scooter Rental not accept credit cards for payment?
In the Philippines, businesses would have to pay annual credit card processing fees to providers regardless of usage.
In addition to this, there is a 4% + 30 PHP fee charged by credit card processing providers, on all charges. Meaning, if we accept credit cards, we would have to pass on these fees to you.
As of now, we are providing our renters with plenty of payment options (other than cash) and most renters do not want to pay the additional credit card fees.
We will consider accepting credit cards in the future if there is demand.
Why do use the BPI buying rate for currency conversion in lieu of Google's spot exchange rates?
When you pay in foreign currency, our bank (BPI) use the buying rate to convert your foreign currency to Philippines Pesos, before depositing funds to our account. Please note that while we get charged bank foreign exchange processing fees, we do not pass this on to our renters.
Do you offer discounts?
Discounts are already baked in into our pricing chart - the longer your rental duration, the cheaper your daily rental rate.
Do you offer discounts?
Discounts are already baked in into our pricing chart - the longer your rental duration, the cheaper your daily rental rate.
If I rent for 1 day, when should I return?
Good question! For iLonggo Scooter Rental, 1 day is equivalent to 24 hours. Meaning, if you rent today @10am, you are required to return your motorcycle rental by 10am tomorrow.
Note: While other motorcycle rental companies may advertise a lower rate, they are actually charging you more, without you realizing it, since they define a day from 8am to 6pm (or whatever hours their operating hours may be).
Using the same example above, while other motorcycle companies charge you for two(2) rental "days", we only charge you for one(1) day!
Contact Us if you have any questions.
Can I return a few hours late?
Late returns are charged at 100 PHP/hour after.
Can I return after your operating hours?
Our operating hours are from 8am to 6pm.
Our office is closed after 6pm, therefore returns after 6pm shall be charged for another day to accommodate our staff's overtime wages.
If you know you cannot return before 6pm, just extend for another day and return your rental the day after.
Do I qualify for a lower rental rate if I extend my rental duration?
Yes! We are currently the only motorcycle rental in the Philippines (and perhaps SE Asia) that will not only provide a lower rental rate (see our pricing chart), but will retroactively apply a lower rental rate to your entire rental duration!
Example: If you start on 600 PHP/day for 5 days (equals 3,000 PHP in total) and decide to extend for another 2 days (therefore 7 days in total), your new daily rate automatically drops to 500 PHP/day x 7 days = 3,500 PHP. Therefore, you would only have to add 500 PHP!
Please note that the reverse would also apply to avoid potential abuse. Meaning, if you start with 7 days (3,500 PHP total) and decide to just rebt for 5 days (3,000 PHP total), we would return your 500 PHP unused balance. No risk - unlike other rental companies, we refund you for any unused days.
Do you provide refund for unused rental days if I need to reduce my rental duration?
Yes. See example below as to how we calculate your refund based on our pricing chart.
Example: If you start with 7 days (3,500 PHP total) and decide to just rent for 5 days (3,000PHP total), we would return your 500 PHP unused balance. No risk - unlike other rental companies, we refund you for any unused days.
Do you price match a rate from another motorcycle rental company?
Price match is not common practice in the Philippines, and shall be at our sole discretion, based on the availability of our motorcycles.
However, we invite you to visit our storefront to view the condition of our motorcycles and the services we offer before you make a decision. If you are not satisfied with your rental, bring it back within one(1) hour for a full refund.
Notes:
We may consider price match only if you can provide proof the price you want us to match to is from a motorcycle rental company in Iloilo City, for the same motorcycle make, model and condition.
For instance, we will not match pricing against (a) a motorcycle that we do not offer (example: 50cc motorcycle), (b) rental company from another country, and/or, (c) a beat-up old motorcycle that is overdue for scrap 😅
Contact Us if you have any questions.
Is insurance included with my rental?
Only TPL (Third Party Liability) insurance is provided with your rental at no additional charge.
Rental pricing does not include coverage for (1)personal yourself, your pillion rider and your motorcycle rental.
What are my insurance options?
TPL (Third Party Liability) insurance is required by law and provided at no additional charge with our rentals.
Option 1 - If you already have insurance coverage in your home country, your first step is to verify if they would extend coverage while you are traveling abroad.
Option 2 - We will offer options (provided by 3rd party insurance providers) for you to choose from.
Option 3 - Get an insurance of your choice.
Option 4 - Self-insure. Meaning, you agree to bear all costs as a result of theft or damages.
What types of insurance do I need?
A. Insurance for personal injury for yourself and/or pillion rider, if applicable.
B. Insurance for loss due to theft and/or damages due to accident to motorcycle rental
Tip: Look for online travel insurance providers with motorcycle sports/rental coverage.
Why don't iLonggo Scooter Rental provide/include the necessary insurance coverage by default?
Multiple reasons as to why we do not include all required insurance by default with pricing:
A. To date, no insurance company in the Philippines wants the risk/liability of insuring a foreign temporary visitor or short-term renter.
B. Consistent with industry practice, we have kept insurance separate and at the sole discretion of the renter.
C. We are not permitted/licensed to offer insurance products.
D. Every renter's needs are different. We give you the option of getting the coverage that best fit your needs.
Tip: Look for online travel insurance providers with motorcycle sports/rental coverage.
What is TPL (Third Party Liability) insurance?
TPL required by Philippines law only covers any personal injury caused by you to a 3rd party (other than yourself and your pillion rider) up to 5000 PHP.
How much does insurance cost?
Only TPL (Third Party Liability) insurance is provided with your rental at no additional charge.
Personal accident, personal property and vehicle insurance pricing varies depending on various factors determined by 3rd party insurance providers such as country of origin, credit rating, duration of coverage, age, etc.
I purchased insurance from a 3rd party provider for, what happens in the event of an accident or theft?
Step 1 - You pay for the damages or loss of property first with your own funds.
Step 2 - We will issue you a receipt for your payment.
Step 3 - You file an insurance claim for reimbursement directly from your insurance provider
Note: Be aware of your insurance coverage deductible (minimum amount you are liable for). Check your insurance policy.
What if I do not buy insurance?
You will bear full responsibility for all costs for (1) damages to motorcycle rental, (2) loss of rental due to damages to motorcycle rental, (3) personal medical costs for yourself and your pillion rider.
Worst case scenario: In the event the motorcycle rental is totaled (unrepairable damage), you will just pay for the cost of a new motorcycle of the same make and model.
Does it make sense to get personal accident insurance and vehicle insurance?
This decision is solely yours to make.
For consideration:
Every insurance policy includes a deductible value. Meaning, the insurance company will typically only reimburse anything above this amount. If your deductible is not much different from the totaled value of your rental motorcycle, you may choose to not get insurance.
Similarly, if you have the means to provide self-coverage for any personal injury, then it is your call to get personal accident insurance.
Either way, rental providers in the Philippines (us included) will not be held liable in the event of loss, damage or injury.
Why don't iLonggo Scooter Rental offer insurance options for vehicle and personal injury?
Firstly, we are not an insurance company. Secondly, there are presently no Philippines Insurance company willing to take on the risk/liability of insuring a foreign person.
Can I ride my rental outside of Panay?
For your safety, please notify us of your intent BEFORE you ride outside the Island of Panay.
Our thirrd-party towing service coverage does NOT extend outside of Panay. Therefore, while we do not restrict you to travel out of Panay, it will be your sole responsibility to tow your motorcycle rental back to us in the event of breakdown, accident or any other circumstances.
Failure to return your rental back to our store location, for any reason, will require you to pay us the price of a new motorcycle of the same make and model.
What do I do in the event that my motorcycle rental is to breakdown on the road or fail to start?
While this is highly unlikely as our motorcycles are 2023 models or newer, regardless, here are some guidelines should this apply.
Step 1 - Call us to explain the circumstances of the breakdown/malfunction, and steps you may have attempted to troubleshoot.
Most issues are easy to troubleshoot over the phone; (1)check fuel tank gage if its empty, (2)if side stand is not fully lifted, the start button will not work.
Step 2 - If simple troubleshooting fails, send to our WhatsApp account. We will dispatch a towing provider to your shared location within Panay Island. As it may take awhile to reach you from Iloilo City, you are not expected to stay at this exact location and wait. Do stay in close proximity to your motorcycle, if possible.
Step 3 - Once the motorcycle is retrieved, you have the following options: (a) return back to Iloilo City with towing provider OR (b) Hand-over your physical driver's license to the towing company and continue on your trip with alternative transportation
Step 4 - Motorcycle will be inspected by a mechanic and we will notify on next steps. Unless the breakdown is caused by your negligence, you are not liable for towing and repair costs.
Note: While you are allowed to ride outside of Panay, be aware that we cannot assist you outside of Panay Island.
I do not have insurance - what is the payment procedure in the event of a breakdown caused by me?
Unless your insurance provider is able to pay immediately in full on your behalf, you are required to pay the full amount for damages/replacement first, get a receipt, then file a claim with your insurance company for reimbursement.
Take note of the deductible amount of your insurance policy.

What do I do if I accidentally fell while riding and scratched/damaged the motorcycle body?
Step 1 - If there are serious injuries to you, your pillion or 3rd party, call the police and ambulance for assistance.
Refer to our Emergency Contact section on our Expatriate Guides page.
Step 2 - Call to notify us of the accident and extend of damages (scratch, cracked motorcycle component, damaged headlights. etc)
Step 3A - For minor damages/scratches, it is primarily your responsibility to repair minor damages prior to your return date. To be fair and transparent, we will provide you a location to go to, and, have scratches/damages fixed at your own expense and time. Alternatively, you can have us conduct the repair on your behalf. See fee schedule posted (on wall) in our office/storefront for costs.
OR
Step 3B - For major accidents, we will tow to dealership at your expense, and provide you a quotation of repair for all damages for payment. We would have to hold your passport till you pay for damages. Alternatively, if you need to leave immediately, you are required to deposit funds for the amount of a new motorcycle of similar model and make. We will reimburse you the difference once payments are processed for repairs, loss of use and processing fees due to staff wages. We will provide you a receipt for final costs of repairs, with which you will use to file a claim with your insurance provider.
OR
Step 3C - If motorcycle is deemed a total loss by mechanic, you will be required to pay the cost of a new motorcycle of the same make and model.

I do not have insurance - in the event of an accident, what is the payment procedure?
You are required to pay the full amount for damages/replacement.
Why am I liable for a new bike replacement if I totaled my rental?
Because that is exactly what we have to do ourselves if we are forced to replace any motorcycles in our fleet.
Alternatively, we will also accept a like-for-like replacement (same make, model, condition, odometer reading within 200km variance from reading at point of rental), and, renter to bear the costs of prompt transfer of ownership to iLonggo Scooter Rental, to allow for immediate use.
What happens if the motorcycle gets impounded because I do not carry my license?
You will be liable for, and continue to accrue rental costs. Pay your fines to LTO, release the motorcycle from impoundment, and return it back to us to complete your rental period.

Unlike other motorcycle rental companies, we handwash our helmets clean, by hand, after every rental:
(a) The soft fabric helmet liners are hand-washed clean with laundry detergent.
(b) The hard shell, visor and straps are sanitized with antiseptic/disinfectant alcohol solution.
We are riders ourselves and hate stinky helmets - it is tedious to wash and clean by hand, but we will not compromise on helmet hygiene.
This is our guarantee!
Are your motorcycles clean?
Yes - we wash our motorcycles and sanitize interior surfaces prior to every rental.
